Affordable Housing Consortium Invites Tacoma For All and Landlord Lobbyists to October 18th Debate
The Tacoma-Pierce County Affordable Housing Consortium has invited Tacoma for All and Jim Henderson or other representatives of the Rental Housing Association of Washington to debate the provisions of Initiative #1, the Tenant Bill of Rights, at a public forum to be held Wednesday, Oct. 18th at Peace Lutheran Church.
Tacoma For All will be represented in the debate by Devin Rydel Kelly, a Hilltop neighborhood resident and member of Tacoma For All’s steering committee. Jim Henderson of Landlord Solutions and the Rental Housing Association of Washington have been invited as well.
The Affordable Housing Consortium’s members include Catholic Community Services, the City of Tacoma, Korean Women’s Association, Pierce County, and a number of developers and construction companies.
“This debate is an exciting opportunity for undecided Tacoma voters to fully consider the protections of Initiative #1,” Rydel Kelly said. “Our campaign has always been committed to complete transparency and truth. We are eager to discuss the initiative and concerns around it, and more fully explain how this will support tenants and have minimal impacts on local landlords. Tacoma For All is eager to have a respectful public conversation for the benefit of the voters. The Affordable Housing Consortium is an excellent host for this public event, and we appreciate the opportunity to debate.”
The debate will be held at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 18th, at Peace Lutheran Church located at 2106 S Cushman Ave, Tacoma, WA 98405. A Facebook event invite can be found here: https://fb.me/e/3TSqu3dSz
